Our client, a rapidly expanding fintech company, is dedicated to providing microfinance services to underserved rural communities across southern Africa. However, their growth was impeded by the limitations of their loan management system to effectively support aspects of their core operational activities. This deficiency was undermining their service delivery, data accuracy, and overall financial performance.
The challenge
The company was hesitant to part ways with their existing core banking system, due to the intricacies involved in migrating financial data and their satisfaction with the system's integration into their financial reporting processes. In response, Hello Robin worked closely with the client to co-design and build an enhanced user interface and automation solution, meticulously linked to their current core banking framework through APIs.

Our approach
While we did employ a more traditional software development approach in this solution (using node.js, react native, and typescript), it serves as an excellent example of building lean and efficient. By identifying a system's strengths and limitations, and building on top of this system, we were able to leverage the solution’s strengths and overcome its weaknesses, without building everything from scratch.
